FAIL TO PLAN YOU PLAN TO FAIL

Entering a trail race or road marathon can be a daunting experience for a new beginner. If you're there on the start line to just give it a go then quite frankly a training plan is not for you. Proper planning, training, measuring and benchmarking guided by a Coach gives you confidence on race day.

WHAT STAGE AM I AT, DO I NEED A COACH?

It's a question we ask ourselves often. Reflect on your own journey and how you got to reading this. Maybe you started your journey as self taught, joined in for group fitness at your local gym or even paid for Personal Training. You've purchased a pre-built training plan, now considering a Coach. It's a natural, common progression often seen with Athletes wanting to better themselves.

HOW DO I COMMUNICATE WITH MY COACH?

Our philosophy is the more we connect the greater chance you have in succeeding your personal and race goals. As a minimum, your training plan is delivered to you weekly via Training Peaks and followed up with an email. Monthly online video meetings are included within your package. At anytime you have a question or query related to your training you will have a direct line to your Coach to contact anytime.

I MISSED A TRAINING SESSION, WHAT DO I DO?

It's common we are unable to commit exactly to the plan. If your day got away from you and you missed your workout, It will be up to you how you feel by finding another day in that week to fit it in. Some factors are, what is planned for the rest of the week? Am I in a building phase where training under load is important? Will moving this session with another planned workout put too much stress on me and risk fatigue and injury? If in doubt get in touch with your Coach to discuss.

Training Peaks Training Plan

WE TAKE THE GUESS WORK OUT OF YOUR TRAINING

When it comes to preparation for a race, each workout and session is planned specifically for you, through constant communication and data reviews. Your focus is you while our focus is your training and on the day performance. There is no guess work when it comes to training with Run Vault Performance.

I ENTERED A MARATHON AND CAN DOWNLOAD A FREE TRAINING PLAN. WHAT'S THE DIFFERENCE?

A common question! Most of these plans have three levels: beginner, intermediate and advanced. But which one are you? Your answer may be based on your own dreams and aspirations, the answer of your friend may be based on a comparison to themselves. While these plans are suitable for the budget conscious and great to get you into some structure with your planning they can set you up for disappointment if you choose the wrong plan or worse, cause an injury. Get in touch if in doubt to discuss your individual circumstances.

Gym Equipments

WHAT EQUIPMENT DO I NEED TO WORK WITH RVP?

Equipment and gear is very much a personal choice. It also depends on your sport. Strength Training will be prescribed in your program so it will be beneficial to have access to a gym or equipment at home. Dumbbells, resistance bands and a straight bar with weight will be advantageous. Your schedule is delivered to you through Training Peaks, so access to this platform and an activity tracker with heart rate monitoring is important. An initial consultation is the first step to understand your environment and access prior to prescription of exercise.

WHY CHOOSE ME AS YOUR RUNNING COACH?

Chances are I'm on a similar journey, just like you. I don't prescribe what I used to do, I prescribe what I currently do week in week out which is proven to work not only for me, but for my athletes as well.

I'm a qualified PT registered with Fitness Australia and a LII Athletics Australia accredited Coach so your trining is backed with experience and qualifications.

You will go through challenging weeks, it will hurt but it will be rewarding, there will be highs and lows and your journey although may look similar in context to the next person is very much unique to you, so your training and our Coach/Athlete relationship will reflect that.

Whether your finish line is the next big event or a forever changing lifestyle, together we will make it yours.

WHAT ATHLETES SAY

Shane - Trail Runner

Training consistently over the last 8 weeks under Jamie's guidance instilled confidence to tackle a trail half marathon, a teaser race leading up to my A race for the year the Scenic Rim Ultra. Without high expectation's other than testing kit, nutrition and pacing, I had cracker day and came home well within top 10 of the field.

I'm excited to see what we can deliver in the Ultra.

Andrew - Trail & Obstacle Runner

Run Vault Performance has given me the tools and fuel to not shy away even when the trail starts to look like Mount Everest.

Bryan - Trail Runner

Running with Jamie, and talking through event specific strength training has been a great help to me. The real value is learning the 'why'. During those runs Jamie has helped me understand why we train the way we do. I understand the connection between the strength routines he puts together for me, and the event I am preparing for. I also see why you need to consider not only overall fitness, but how you can apply strength training in a sport specific context. It isn't enough to lift, or run - you need direction and purpose.
